Moral Question...concerning Osama bin laden

#1 Postby southerngale » Sun Mar 16, 2003 2:05 am

Read carefully and make your choice....

I have a moral question for you. This is an imaginary situation, but I think it is interesting to decide what one would do. The situation:

You are in the Middle East, and there is a huge flood in progress. Many homes have been lost, water supplies compromised and structures destroyed. Let's say that you're a photographer and getting still photos for a news service, traveling alone, looking for particularly poignant scenes. You come across Osama Bin Laden who has been swept away by the flood waters. He is barely hanging on to a tree limb and is about to go under. You can either put down your camera and save him, or take a Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of him as he loses his grip on the limb. So, here's the question, and think carefully before you answer the question:

Which lens would you use?

southerngale, how you managed to place the words "moral" and "Osama bin Laden" in the same sentence...LOL

I'd rescue his sorry @$$, tie him up while he's still recovering (or render him unconscious first), THEN take all the pictures I want...until I hand him over to the properly cold-eyed professionals for a nice, leisurely "chat".

I would use the zoom lens. THEN I would attempt to rescue him. I would tie him up and take zoom photos again. I would turn him over to the United States troops there and then I would ask them for my 25 million bucks.

I'd laugh at him and made sure he's dead.
