And I have a question: did the biker die in the beginning?

Garrett - good question! I have absolutely no idea. What I noticed right away was you didn't have the calm before the storm, as you normally see in disaster films. I turned it on, thinking I could go get a soda or something. But no, the earthquake was happening right off the bat! And yeah that guy kept riding his bike to avoid being hurt - that was a stretch! I just kept shaking my head thinking, wow they jump right into it. Then I realized it wasn't the 10.5 one yet....LOL

Maybe we'll see the biker guy tonight.

That scene with the Explorer getting buried in dirt/sand was scary! I thought for sure it would give me nightmares.

What got me was that whole town buried and him finding the two people in the car. And what about that train?

If he didn't he was lucky. I would have had a heart attack if that space needle was falling towards me

The train thing was a little too far over the edge for me. The special effects were very believable, but there is no way a fault would open and follow a train track for miles like that-just like unzipping your fly was what it brought to mind.

There is no doubt in my mind that some of the scenarios shown could happen in a cataclysmic earthquake such as the one being depicted. What is even weirder to me is the fact, and I don't believe this has been brought out in the film, that some believe that a major quake originating in the Seattle area(long overdue for a major quake)could indeed have catastrophic results all up and down the West coast.

Yeah, I agree with a lot that was said. However, I keep remembering tha this is fiction and some things wouldn't be true.

I watched that Earthquake Movie last night. It's scary to think if those deep faults really do exist and if that were to happen!! Holy Crap!

I could be wrong, but as I understand it those deep faults do exist and it is just a matter of when the right forces come together to cause a deep quake that literally shakes all of California or most of the West coast. That when could be millions of years in the future or it could be tomorrow. I haven't done research on this but think I remember reading about this somewhere. If someone can discount this fine and vice versa.

I really liked the actress who played the Governor of California. But I keep asking myself... is John Schneider in every disaster movie??

Has anyone thought about Yellowstone and its SUPER VOLCANO, this thing is supposed to be massive, and if it does blow to the potential some are saying it might, THEN WOULD THAT NOT SCREW UP THE WHOLE FALUT System. In my mind would it not create new faults, if not make faults of its own. Plus it might might shift enough land to cause some faults to go critcal and cause more earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. AND would yellowstone not only produce a massive earthquake in itself because of the ohhhh 80 kilometer by 40 kilometer area of lava that it has in its pool. IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, YELLOWSTONE WHEN IT BLOWS WILL BE A DISASTER!

Well i watched it last night and it was a very good movie miniseries at the moment in my mind...I though it would be really awsome but devestating if something like this actually happend....I know it can not but it might be cool to watch from a stray. I would however feel so sorry for those that are in the disaster when it happens.

I didn't like it. The special effects were not very good (i mean come on?! a train being chased by a widening fault line?)at all and the plot is just not scientifically possible. It seemed so contrived and hokey.

"LOL @ JQ!" I FULLY agree with ya on this one! It was, without a doubt, IMHO of course, one of the HOKIEST (if that's a word LOL!) movies I've seen since the late 60's, you remember those movies, "The Giant Moth that ate Las Vegas" or "Godzilla Fights the Giant Moth!"......sheesh.

The camera man I swear, was a 9th grade Audio/Visual student..did you watch the camera, shaking, panning in, BAD close ups, sudden jerks, no, not during the earthquake scenes, in the STILL scenes "LOL!"

Did I watch it? Of course, after the past 2 days, I "NEEDED" a GOOD laugh, "Danger Will Robinson, DANGER!"

I really liked it and I thought that camera work that was done was great. It is a different style that what we are used to in the mainstream, one more typical of indie films, but I enjoyed it.

The train part annoyed me, but other than that I thought it was good.

Lol i guess you're a better man than myself Dennis...i couldn't get myself to watch the rest of it hahaha! I probably would have watched it if I didn't have an English exam at 8am this morning!! Sigh...even though that movie with Jake Gyllenhaal looks hokie too i still wanna watch that. I guess Earthquakes just never did it for me but the idea of 50 tornadoes one beside another (no matter how impossible it may be) just gets me happy! lol

As it turns out I lied to all of you!!  I didn't watch the last part because we were out buying my son a new computer(SO I CAN HAVE MINE BACK!!!!!). I guess it was as HOKIE as I thought it would be too. I did see like the final scenes when it all ended.????????? Good, but unrealistic special effects IMO. That train scene from the first night still sticks in my craw!!!!
