There is weakness in the silent whipped male. Off camera, stage left, is a younger chick, beak painted, eyes smiling, parading her long legs and snow white breast for his eyes to admire. He hears nothing really from all the noise.
Mother hen will soon have nothing to harp at except her own lonely image in the still still lake.
He, in turn, will discover that the young chicklet's beak is also capable of flapping in the breeze.
And so goes the cycle.
