Why is your mom so great?

#1 Postby Amanzi » Fri May 07, 2004 1:35 pm

Well mothers day is just around the corner, which got me thinking about my Mom. It really is tough being so far away from her because we are really close. I was just thinking this morning how special my mom really is to me.

One of the greatest things I thank my mom for is passing on her love of the Lord to me. She has really shown me what walking with the Lord is all about. She has been through a really tough time (including being homeless and living in her car for awhile) yet through it all she always has faith that God will see her through and these trials serve to mould her character. Through all this she has remained loving and sweet. I wonder how many people ( I know I dont think I could) would be that strong and not become bitter and angry at the people and circumstances there in?

And I have to thank my Mom for passing on her love of chocolate milk to me :)

What are some of the things you remember growing up or even now that makes your Mamma the best in the world.

My mom ROCKS!!! She is awesome! I miss her because she lives up in Michigan but I talk to her often and I love her so much. I can't wait until July when we go and vist her and my Dad. My Dad ROCKS too!!

I had my mom for only my first 25 years, but she instilled in me some very strong principles and reminded me the importance of building family goals...not individual ones in your life.

She taught me that alcohol was bad, but to appreciate hot bakery bread and butter as often as you could.

She taught me how to make a great scratch butterscotch pie.

Mom has been gone for more than 30 years now, but I still appreciate that family commitment she made with her family of 10 brothers and sisters. They are ALL gone now too, but that was one unusually caring family she had. I appreciated being part of it.
