let's just make sure that the guy is put into the general prison population where, as it has been noted earlier, they have a very unique and painful way of dealing with child molestors who rarely survive the experience. The bad thing though, is that the creep could cop an insanity plea.

One of the biggest things about prison is that most inmates ABSOLUTELY DESPISE CHILD MOLESTORS!!!!!!

Very true...if this story ends up being true, those inmates
could make Mr. Mitchell wonder if he might be pregnant!

What galls me is the media feeding frenzy...the family is even now being BOMBARDED with offers of $$$ for the "rights" to her story... :grrr:

Elizabeth is going to need comprehensive post-traumatic/abuse counseling, possibly "de-programming" as well, before the courts call her forth for "Emmanuel's" defense attorney's examination. I don't see this as being within the next two years at the very least...she is NOT prepared for that. Best for her that she be left alone with her family and the proper medical/psychiatric professionals.

The media and hollywood frenzy makes me wanna yak. :17: If there's one good thing about this impending war, it may be that the news should shift away from this poor family and give them some peace. Ask Gary Condit about that.

But the prison thing has always puzzled me, that there's a certain code of ethics to criminal behavior. After all, we law abiding citizens believe child molesters should receive cruel and unusual punishment, but I wonder why the prison population finds it more respectful to take out an unarmed convenience store clerk during a robbery?

It is kinda strange to think about criminals still having morals, isn't it?
The fact is that most of the violent criminal population are indeed armed robbers, murderers, and such ... a lot of these criminals were desperate for money for whatever reason, drugs, family issues, etc.

Criminals are criminals, bottom line, but they are also people who made the wrong choice in life. And just like us, most would never think of putting a child in such a situation, sort of a parental instinct. Some of these criminals may not have a lot of respect or remorse for their actions. However, at the same time, it's an oxymoron as well, as hearing of a child which was molested in any manner, sickens most all of us, including incarcerated criminals.
