Video on an Islamic militant Web site shows the beheading of a man who identifies himself as Nick Berg, an American worker in Iraq. The militants vow more slayings as retaliation for Iraqi prisoner abuse.

Am I to assume you watched the video Linda? The detailed description was bad enough for me. I can't watch it.

Yes Kelly I watched it. And I must say that the video itself is worse than the details. I had both hands to my mouth when they did that. There is no way to describe how watching that video makes me feel. :grr:

I said a prayer for that young man for what he went through all for the good of the Iraq infrastructure. What a bunch of BULL!!!

Yeah, I've seen a similar reaction to others who have watched it. They get even madder. I'm quite outraged already, plus I couldn't stomach it.

I am not okay at what they did to that youngun. I keep seeing his face. I did not stomach it well, matter of fact and to be quite honest it made me sick. And yes Kelly, watching the video will make you even angrier AND literally sick. I still can't grasp the fact at how they showed NO feeling in doing that while masked.

ANIMALS are treated better than what they did to that kid.

Furthermore, after having seen a video like that, it makes me wonder just how innocent or insane O.J. is.

Nicole's killer nearly severed her head completely from her body. Anyone who can do that has to be hardened to an extremely evil extent. I don't see that hardness in O.J., which leads me to believe he's either guilty and insane and therefore, hiding it well (which is why I don't see it), or completely innocent and unscathed by any tendencies evil enough to commit such an act.

"quote from ABC News:

The "reason" for so doing is a sham...remember that stalwart Italian a few weeks back? Al Jazeera WOULDN'T show that execution, because the man stood tall and defiant. They didn't give the American a chance, one way or the other.

Besides, I'd only watch ABC if I needed a laugh...their consistent US-bashing is near-legendary. :grrr:

Seriously, like Johnathan said, don't watch it!! Unless you have seen war or trauma or something strongly similar and know that you can stomach it, it's just not worth the horror. I can't believe there are certain websites that show explicit videos like this that border on pornography because they are so obscene. (I'm not calling the site that Johnathan posted "pornographic," but the ones that archive this crap for people to view regularly are that.)

Does anyone now question what this war is about?

Can't help noticing that someone made a comment that this man died while trying to help build the Iraqui infrastructure. Hello! Why are we building an infrastructure? Would part of the answer be to introduce Iraq to democracy? And why are we doing that? Because THAT was George Bush's plan!

He was there on his own free will. He wasn't in the military.

To help rebuild Iraq for what? You guys can't have it both ways!!! He was there because the government contracted with independant companies to help with the rebuilding....rebuilding that was necessary both from the neglect from years of Saddam and what was done when we invaded the country.

The militant masked cowards that everyone keeps talking about are people that saw opportunity when Saddam was removed from power. Up until Saddam was removed, Al-Quida didn't call Iraq "home".

If we had finished what we started in Afghanistan, the events of the last few months may have never happened.

Colin Powell today stated that the people in the prison who were abused were not ranking Iraqi military. They were people being held because of questionable backgrounds. There is no proof they were terrorists. The actions of a handful of our military, and the negligence of their ranking officers to see what was being done, is responsible for today's atrocity.

Regardless, we had no business going to Iraq in the first place.

You have got to be kidding me!! Saddam backed those terrorists and what they are doing today. All that left spew comes out in full swing when backed into a corner. Why dont you ask the Kurds if removing Hussein was a PLUS!!! AL Q has been training in Iraq and other countries for years!! Hussein has been funding the network too.

If you do not like the war in Iraq just say it. But do not justify your displeasure of this war on what happened to Chris Berg. THERE IS NO justification for what happened to him!!
