ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH!

#1 Postby CajunMama » Fri May 14, 2004 11:13 pm

This rain just WILL NOT QUIT! We've had another 3"+ today and now it's training over us straight up from the GOM. We've had 10"+ for the month already.

SE Louisana and SW Mississippi have just been getting CLOBBERED the last three days. Some areas have seen upwards of 25" of rain and I personally don't see an end in sight. Large scale ascent with continued moisture advection along this dying warm front will continue to allow for storms/heavy rainfall to develop and move towards the north ahead of the low and along the boundary. This thing should begin to get on the move sometime Saturday and bring heavy rains to my area. Possibly bring a little relief to this drought and get me out of working all day on tomorrow.

Well we have only received a little over 2 inches here in Pascagoula, MS. We have not seen rain in 3 weeks.

You know, this is how it goes so often in situations like this. One area will be just flooded and deluged with rain, yet somewhere nearby, they can't buy a drop of rain.

That IS amazing, indeed! We've had rain,
every day this week, as well - not as much
as LA, but, water is standing, everywhere.
I echo "Enough!!!"

Well there was a chance of showers and thunderstorms virtually every day this past week, and I got absolutely nothing. Again, starting today, the next 6 days promise a chance of showers and thunderstorms, so I BETTER get something. :D

Hmmm, Kathy - investing in a small boat doesn't
look like too bad of an idea, at this point! ;)

To think you thought I brought the rain down
there, with me - heck, I brought some of it,
back here, as well!

(It's not MY fault - I SWEAR!)

The rain we had when you were here is nothing compared to what we've been getting!

Whew! I'm clear on THAT, then! ;)

Do you normally have a dry season, in the
latter part of summer?

Correction Kathy, the aiport is reporting almost 13.5" inches for the month now! Funny thing is a few years ago we didn't have any measurable precip during the month of May!

Yep they're at 12.05" right now, wouldn't be surprised to see another 2" tacked once the storms get going. The river is still at 13.3 feet (flood stage 10 feet) so if we get another deluge there will be big problems.
