Massachusetts and John Kerry

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Mon May 17, 2004 9:23 am

I turned on the news this morning and heard all the hubbub about gay couples getting married in Massachuesetts. I thought that wasn't allowed...again.

Does the whole darn state have John Kerry's flip-flop syndrome? First it was approved, then it was banned, then approved, then banned, then approved again. They celebrate, then protest, then celebrate, then protest...and on and on. It's in the news as a big breakthrough decision, then it's overturned, then it's a big deal all over again.

Can't anyone in that state make a decision and stick with it? What do they do when they're at a red light and they want to turn right?

Duck, I think the State Supreme Court said it was legal under their constitution. The legislature started the process to ban it,but it will take a couple of years for it to be officially changed in the state constitution -- they were having a constitutional convention. Anyway, it is legal according to the Court that is legislating from the bench, but the legislature has to go through a lengthy process to change it.

Not only is it Waffler's home state but it's also Teddy's home state AND the site of the Snoozefest, I mean Democratic National Convention in Late July.

I can't figure out John Kerry's position. "Sorta" opposes?
