Hi All,
We got hit with heavy thunderstorms early this morning. In the city where I live, we had 5 inches of rain. I think that we had 4 to 5 inches at my house. When I woke up this morning to get ready for work, I saw that parts of my yard was underwater. Unfortunately I had no time to get any pictures since I had to get ready and leave for work. Some parts of the metro area got up to 7 inches. Freeman, MO, in Cass County was especially hard hit.

Wow... this is something else. Lake Annette is only 10 minutes from where I grew up, and only 2 minutes from my sister's house.
Here's a news story on the event from the KMBC-TV 9 in Kansas City...

Sorry I'm a bit late on replying to this-we're in the middle of finals this week. I live in Lawrence and we got maybe a few sprinkles from this-my parents up by KCI got like 2 inches-this was one of those intense small area events that makes living in this part of the country so much fun!!! Thankfully no one was seriously injured. However, I would take some more rain next week-as hot as it has become and as windy as it has been this spring (or summer!!!) it seems we get rain, then the moisture is gone in two days. Have a nice weekend-I'm taking my 5 year old camping today!!
