Anyone from South Texas all the way up to main is fair game.. lol

On a lower scale.. In my humble opinion.. I do think that the Panhandle could get hit this year. It all depends on what the storm is and if the right currents steer it in that direction

Welcome!

There's been quite a few discussions by other members saying that they feel the possibility of a strike ANYWHERE on the Florida peninsula is quite possible.

Steph.. I agree with the other members.. We here in Florida are sitting ducks pretty much. We always seem to dodge the major bullets.

I know I say this EVERY YEAR.. But I think this could be our year..

I'm here in the Panhandle myself so I hope not. But, this year will be another active season which gives everyone a slight higher probability. Nobody can say for certain who will be visited by a Tropical cyclone this season so your best plan for action is to be prepared and stay informed. You should stock up on Hurricane supplies and have a plan of destination in the event you need to evacuate. I'm 1 1/2 miles from the Beach over here and only 400 yds from Choctawhatchee Bay at 10.5 ft. elevation, so in the event of a Cat. 3 or greater I'm definitely out of here.

We dodged a monster storm last year with Isabel... haven't had a hurricane since 2001 here in the Bahamas.

I reckon we're "overdue" ;)

They will likely get hit again. But remember over the northeastern Gulf there is not that much TCHP. So it can not support anything stronger then a upper 3.

"Can Not" may be a tad strong... Except for the immediate coastline of western FL, things seem to be heating up at least a little more than what was evident just a few weeks ago. And that plume just north of western Cuba also seems to be expanding. Is there anything in the future that should be taking things in the opposite direction - besides December?

TS Henri 2003- Yup I remember that guy

It made landfall as a depression along Madiera Beach here in Pinellas County. As the Circulation crossed over my home in Central pinellas a thunderstorm in the "eyewall" produced top sustained winds of 34 mph and a 5-second gust to 57 mph. This circulation led to flooding in nearby shore acres- a storm surge I ended up having to walk through a couple hours later (when visiting friends there), getting myself wet. I guess the surge was 2-3 feet.

Of all the tropical systems I have felt the impacts of here on the Suncoast, this is the only time I was able to see the edge of the eyewall all the way around (the entire eye). It was incredibly beautiful and serene inside. (The storm passed over during sunrise)

hey how bout New England??? anything up here this year??? I wouldnt mind a cat 1... need the rain and a nice strong breeze wouldnt be too bad here...

that's basically what Charley gave us last year... a raindrop and a 10mph wind gust... of course to our east I think a number of roads were closed in RI because of flooding...

I say New England is due for a hurricane strike... and also a tornado outbreak

That's not a good statement to make,I hope nobody believes that and decides to stick around for a approaching cat 4/5 storm thinking it will weaken to a 3 before landfall.
