From here on out if you recieve an email from Storm2k.org that tells you anything besides the newsletter has arrived or you have a private message

IGNORE IT OR DELETE IT UNLESS THERE IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE MESSAGE BOARD THAT WE ARE SENDING EVERYONE SOME SORT OF SOFTWARE.

Marshall, Chad and I will have ALWAYS consulted about any software for tracking, etc. before we would send anything out.

I have not spoken with Admin about this and they may feel free to retract this, but after the BS today this is the policy I intend to use.

We will never send softwareout to our users. If we find something we think people would be interested in we will post a link a regular thread. The only mass-mailings we do are for the newsletter and special chat gatherings. Sorry for all the problems folks!

It's not you fault Marshall. These things happen and from what I hear around the computer communties there is nothing we can do to stop it. These people are just out to prove they can do it. Luckily no damage was done!! :)

Here I am with my semantics or whatever, apolgized in advance...

There can easily be other reasons for mass mailings. I totally understand about this e-mail and went into my e-mailbox and deleted it seconds after I read Jen's post.

Thanks!

If anyone like myself ran the stormtracker.exe file, and if you are running nt, win2k, xp. Open task manger and kill the stormtracker.exe process. Even though it seems like the file is not doing anything it is running resident in memory until you kill the process. From what I can tell it looks like some type of logging program. I have no idea what it is logging.

Thanks for the warning. I would normally have opened it. I guess being behind on your e-mail has it's advantages! :D
