This is what is going on in the persian gulf area as all points for the war to start more sooner rather than later as the information in the link says so stay tuned to your TV sets all the time as you are at computer.

Bush speech the other nite didnt say 48 hrs for him to leave Iraq said 48 hrs if he refused to leave. So i believe the actuall countdown clock started at 4am the early morning after the speech.. I could be wrong on this, but i do believe it was on msnbc

MSNBC is reporting that US planes bombed positions of artillery near Basra just a few minutes ago.

Also MSNBC is reporting about how many planes did the bombing of the short range artillery place in southern Iraq.

There were 12 planes that did that bombing near the Iraq/Kuwait border near Basra.

It's a preview that bombing Ticka to clear that area near the border of Iraq/Kuwait for then the invasion to begin in full swing.

If my memory serves me right, the Gulf War started around 6-7 pm cst.

The war hasn't officially started Ticka but we've got about 300,000 troops within striking distance of Iraq. It won't be long.

Chad... the 4 a.m. timeframe you are talking about is Baghdad time. It will be 8 eastern, 7 central tonight. Hope that helps!
