(once again, for all who don't my emails...)
good morning! finally got all of my material collected from the past three days of severe weather to affect the greater Central Illinois region assembled into a nice presentation. for those having recieved my previous messages containing images, the following contains "only the best" as well as short video clips that should hopefully be reasonably dial-up friendly. taking note of the link below, i chose the word "mayday" because aside from the month that this has occurred, people around our area have needed all the help they can get with cleaning up after the storms. comments welcome, enjoy! regards, p

WOW! Amazing stuff, awesome pics and video! "Mayday" was an appropriate description.
I was watching the lightning video and counting after each one as they got closer, "1-1/2 miles ... 1/4 mile ... then BAM!" Out goes the power.
The illuminated wall cloud and subsequent siren was chilling.
Thanks for posting, great job pawlee!

with so many out spotting this night when it is virtually impossible to see anything, my goal was to document the event for the weather service. dialogue was tough at the time for aside from the adrenaline rush, i had previously ran up three flights of stairs and was out of breath. took everything i had to be steady and curtail my panting. the sirens was the icing on the cake for by then i was back downstairs and somewhat composed. it's short because it sucked up the last few meg's of my memory stick... i think jami closed the lightning segment brilliantly with her "paul... where are you?"
