A sure sign of hurricane season...

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sat May 29, 2004 4:56 pm

This is 1 sure sign of hurricane season...

I don't know about you.. But I know my local newspaper tomorrow, will have the Hurricane Survival Guide in it. It always comes out the Sunday before the season starts..

The only reason I ever buy the Sunday paper on that particular day is for the Hurricane Guide lol..

I even think I saw some home improvement stores around here, with those..

Hurricane Season 2004.. :) Are we ready..? :) I know I am..

Excellent Point :D ..If you haven't already got a survival guide it's a good idea to pick one up for this year for a local source. Local hurricane proceedures change so get a local source with local information that is specific to your evacuation/protection area. A checklist can be very helpful..

Even though I'm inland.. I need to be aware of the evacuation shelters.. because if a major storm were to come this way.. I'd have to go to LOWER ground..

Yes I said LOWER ground lol.. I'm on the 3rd floor of my apt. complex here...

We just received our annual disaster preparedness guide courtesy of our local Nuke plant. Encompasses all types of "disasters."

Our local newspaper usually does the same but a few days before the season starts, they make a full page on different kinds of drinks you can make during a hurricane ( This year the drink was called The Hurricane with mixes of Rum and fruit juice in it ). People are crazy around these parts...and will try to find any reason to make drinks like that

We got our hurricane map and guide in last Sunday's paper. Had lots of good coupons in it also.

We receive a lot of guides in the Keys. They are very informative. We also watch the local specials from Miami.
