I loved it, im going to get it once it comes out on video. The twisters were awsome, and the guy who was hit by the billboard got what he deserved, stupid. I also liked the part where all of southern america had to evacuate to Mexico and they closed the boarders to USA/Mexica because of too many " American Illegal Aliens "...who whould have though

I went and saw the movie tonight. I liked it.
The special effects I thought were great, especially the wall of water in NY and the tornadoes of course. The stretch for me was the wolves did not see it to be necessary. I think it was worth the money to see it though not bad entertainment.

Did anyone notice how political this movie was? First of all, in the beginning of the movie, you see a Dick Cheney look-alike vice president bashing the Kyoto treaty. The vice president is clearly making the decisions and running the show. They portray him as a sneering, bad decision-making hard head who won't listen to the scientists. Hmmm, sound familiar.? There is one big difference though....at the end of the movie the Cheney look-alike actually apologizes to the American people for his mistakes. This would never happen. Okay, go ahead bash me Republicans!

Just saw the movie a few minutes ago and I have too words -- LAUGHINGLY BAD! The political statements alone were enough to make any intelligent person sick - and I was expecting them. If only we had signed the kyoto treaty.... Once the storms destroyed all those nasty SUVs, the astronauts remarked how clear the air was now.

Anyone notice the giant snow-hurricane spinning cyclonically on satellite and anticyclonically in the model projection? And the hailstones did look like crystals.

Funniest part was when the LAX NWS office met noticed all the weather problems and remarked "I'd better turn on The Weather Channel, we might need to issue a tornado warning!"

I kept wondering why the kids in the library never thought of burning all those heavy oak tables and chairs. They just burned books.

My wife thought it was the worst movie she's ever seen. It was pretty bad. I don't think I could even stomach it again.

Oh, and I forgot - the air in the center of the storm was sinking too fast for adiabatic warming to occur?? I guess the laws of physics didn't apply in the eye of these snow hurricanes.

"Shrek 2" beat it at the box office. Although it made $70 million.

Now the big question is if it has legs.

Only way I'd ever see it is on DVD as part of some drinking game related to taking a sip whenever something idiotic happened.

Mmmmm...drinking game.

Don't mence words...what do you really think?

I saw it on opening night. It was both great and disappointing. I'm a sucker for a movie that shows humans perservering over adversity, so it touched me in that sense.

On the other hand, there weren't as many special effects as I thought there would be. There were too many times where the scene cut away with a thought unfinished (like when the girl had the infection. OR WHAT?)

Lastly the overwhelming liberal environmental message being crammed down your throat was a little thick at times. They got past that towards the end of the movie, and the movie improved.

I agree with you on that statement. They look real, but they're not.
