The warm front has just gone through my area after some morning rain showers, and now the sky is almost completely sunny. I know we don't have that great of a risk of severe wx today...but the fact of having an almost sunny sky. You can almost start to see the haze begin to filter out the sunshine. I hope that we don't get much in way of severe wx this afternoon or evening. The area is under the slight risk. At 11 AM, Pittsburgh Int'l was reporting Cloudy skies, a temp of 71 with a dew point of 65.
As a side note...I hope everyone that has been affected by the severe wx over the last 2 days is safe. I feel really badly for the ppl that have taken it on the chin the last 2 days.

Tom, you may just see some storms. The limiting factor this morning was the cloud cover. If you have gone sunny and are north of the warm front you should keep an eye to the sky.

Tom, take care of yourself and keep an eye to the sky! I'm getting those rain showers right now, but it doesn't seem like I'll be seeing any sun. If I did, I'd be worried. I think that you're in the "Isolated Severe" area like myself. The Severe area goes from Washington DC down through the SE.

After this morning brief appearance of sunshine, clouds have filled back in with a mostly cloudy to cloudy sky over head. Hopefully, this cloud cover keeps any thunderstorm development at bay for now. Time will tell as we have no entered the middle part of the afternoon. Temps in the local area are in the upper 60s to lower 70s according to local reporting stations. It is still rather muggy outside still and the cold front is not into East Central Ohio making progess to the east. So far, there appears to be almost no thunderstorm development along the front. Like I said, time will tell and hopefully, we can get away from today with no real problems. My wife pointed something out to me this morning...today is historically a rather bad day for severe weather in PA. 2 of the Johnstown floods have occured on May 31st, several events of severe wx have occurec on this day as well. So, hopefully, today nothing like that will happen. Just going to keep an eye to the sky and an ear to the weather radio.
