The last time I stayed ALL night for an actual hurricane was when Elena was threatening our west central coast. We evacuated the island about 3 a.m. and drove south to a motel, which was dumb, because it was still on the coast!
Then we went to a friend's home farther inland, but decided to return home almost right away after all. What a Labor Day weekend
And then weeks of clean-up.

Been there done that. I went to winter haven and a nado touched down near our motel.. First time I learned about inland dangers from brushes with canes!!dixiebreeze wrote:The last time I stayed ALL night for an actual hurricane was when Elena was threatening our west central coast. Rainband and all
I evacuated my children (many years ago) to Meridian Mississippi to stay with family during one threat. We ended up getting nothing while they spent the night in a walkin closet with tornados all around them. Probably the worst night they ever went through. There were three touchdowns within yards of the house they were in. They were very lucky!
