It's going on in Eastern NC: Tornado Watch, Warning, T-Storm

#1 Postby NC George » Fri Jun 04, 2004 12:25 pm

There is currently a Tornado warning until 1:45 pm for Wilson County, a Tornado Watch for all of Eastern NC until 5:00 pm and a T-storm warning for Wayne County until 2:00 pm.

Just in as I type this: Severe T-storm warning for Pitt County until 2:00 pm and one for Edgecombe County until 1:45 pm.

Wow, it finally reached me. Strong rain and wind gusts for the past 30 minutes or so. TV 9 just indicated a Meso-storm (slight rotation) was due to pass over my head in about 20 minutes, it is SSW of me, moving NNE.

Tornado seems to be a F1 by reports, people are reporting power lines and tree branches down, lots of dust in the air, but no injuries or buildings destroyed.

Flash floods are in the area, reports of fast moving water over Hwy 903 between Stokes and Williamston.
