FBI Searching for Al-Qaeda Suspect Planning Major Attack!!!

FBI hunts al-Qaida suspect in U.S.

Man who lived in Miami said to be planning a ‘major attack’

WASHINGTON, March 20 — The FBI was hunting Thursday for a suspected al-Qaida operative with pilot training who may be in the United States and planning a “major attack,” senior counterterrorism officials told NBC News. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said authorities fear the man could be “another Mohammed Atta.”

THE OFFICIALS sent out a nationwide bulletin to police urging them to be on the lookout for Adnan G. el-Shukrijumah, who recently was using the alias Jaafaral al-Tayyar. The bulletin said word of his plans was based on information
obtained from recently captured al-Qaida operatives.
“The United States has information indicating he may be involved in al-Qaida and may pose an imminent threat to U.S. interests at home or overseas,” the bulletin said.
The officials who spoke with NBC News said el-Shukrijumah was known to have been in the United States since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, living for a time in Miami. His whereabouts now are not known.
The officials said they had no specific information about what el-Shukrijuman, nicknamed “Jaafaral the Pilot,” may be planning, but they said his pilot training raises the possibility that he might be planning an airborne attack similar to that carried out by Atta, the ringleader of the 19 hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks.
Separately, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Thursday the government is investigating a possible threat against the Palo Verde nuclear power plant near Phoenix.

This is the latest I've seen. I'm off to T-Ball practice with my little boy. My sister has direct orders to call me on my cell phone with any new developments on anything.

WASHINGTON — A Saudi national believed to be plotting terrorist attacks as part of Al Qaeda was the focus of a worldwide manhunt issued by the FBI Thursday, as efforts intensified to uncover any potential terrorists planned by Iraqi operatives or sympathizers.

Adnan G. El Shukrijumah is being sought by the FBI, who are asking for help from law enforcement officials as well as the public. Officials say El Shukrijumah may have been last seen in Miami before he disappeared, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

"El Shukrijumah is possibly involved with Al Qaeda terrorist activities and, if true, poses a serious threat to U.S. citizens and interests worldwide," the FBI said in a statement.

Sources told Fox News that he was trained by Al Qaeda, and while not considered a senior operative of the terrorist organization, he is connected and may be involved in a plot against the United States, according to information gathered from detainees.

The FBI alert did not specify the nature of the threats El Shukrijumah may pose to U.S. interests, sources said he may be a trained pilot.

El Shukrijumah is described as 27, about 5-foot-4 and 132 pounds or heavier. He may or may not be wearing a beard.

Although born in Saudi Arabia, the FBI says El Shukrijumah carries a Guyana passport and could attempt to enter the United States with a Saudi, Canadian, or Trinidad passport as well. He has also gone by a half-dozen alias.

One FBI official said El Shukrijumah only recently came to the agency's attention, but the official did not say how.

The FBI also was actively investigating "others who have links to terrorism," including potential Al Qaeda members or sympathizers in America.

Several thousand FBI agents were being diverted from regular duties to do the interviews and man command posts at each of the bureau's 56 field offices to gather intelligence and respond quickly to any terrorist threats. A national command center was set up at FBI headquarters in Washington. The FBI wants to speak with about 50,000 Iraqis in this country.

"We are bringing to bear the full weight of our resources, expertise, and partnerships," FBI Director Robert Mueller said. "We are running down every lead, responding to every threat, coordinating with every partner, and doing our utmost to keep terrorists from striking back."

The FBI has new authority from Attorney General John Ashcroft to arrest people on immigration charges if they are believed to post a wartime threat. Officials declined to say Thursday if any such arrests had occurred since the onset of war with Iraq.

For those who don't know, Beaumont is in Jefferson County.

U.S.`s Emergency Oil Reserve Located In SE Texas; Could Be Terrorist Target
Friday, March 21, 2003

Many people don`t even know it exists, but the Big Hill Petroleum Reserve is one of the nation`s four emergency oil reserves and a prime target for terrorism. The reserve is located just outside Winnie in Jefferson County. There, the U.S. stockpiles millions of barrels of oil. Security around Big Hill is extemely tight right now. There are also oil reserve sites near Freeport, Texas; Lake Charles, LA, and Baton Rouge, LA.

OMG! I bet they're taking it seriously. This guy is on the front page of the FBI website!

This is what it says:

The Search For Adnan El Shukrijumah

The FBI is currently meeting with key leaders of the Arab-American community to address the search for Adnan El Shukrijumah, a man sought for questioning in connection with possible threats against the United States.

These leaders have offered to reach out to the community in the hopes of encouraging people to provide any information regarding El Shukrijumah, and to address the community's concerns regarding hate crimes.

As stated in the previous alert, El Shukrijumah may be involved with al-Qaeda terrorist activities and, if this is the case, he may pose a serious threat to United States citizens and interests worldwide. If you have any information concerning El Shukrijumah, please contact your local FBI office, nearest American Embassy, or Consulate.

This Is Strange

#13 Postby Steve H. » Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:05 pm

I think I posted here earlier in the week that after hearing the news about GIs getting executed, I got so angry, and I saw two arab men walking thru the mall near the USF Sun Dome. I was so mad I thought that I'd push them down the escalator (bad idea Steve you's end up in jail). But in looking back, one of the men bared a close resemblance to the scraggly looking one in the picture above (I had only seen the clean cut looking one), the other was tall, thin and lanky. This was on Sunday morning about noon just after the mall opened. This is near the USF campus in Tampa. Naw, my imaginations running here Me thinks. But they way they carried themselves in such a way (cocky) that really pissed me off. :o :o :o :o :o  I think a terrorist wouldn't buy stuff at Burdines, but who knows :o

Steve...

Maybe your imagination is running wild but let the authorities decide that. You should report it right away. You never know what little tip will be a big help!
