I'll ship you some of Central FL. We have had several inches in the last two days.

KAMX NEXRAD is lighting up this afternoon w/ plenty of convection across SE FL.

Precipitable water per 18z RUC analysis is running in the 1.70-2.00" range, w/ SFC dewpoints > 68F, and storm motion generally less than 30 KT all pointing to heavy rainfall potential w/ thunderstorms this afternoon over the SRN portions of the peninsula.

Instability is pretty impressive w/ 19z sounding at MIA showing LI's down to -5.6 and Boundary layer CAPE around 2800 J/kg.

Did also notice a dry nose above 700H which may aid in downburst potential w/ stronger storms, but heavy rainfall should be the biggest threat. generally speaking.

The only thing falling from the sky at my house in NE Fort Lauderdale is water from the sprinkler. All bark and no bite this week and I would say if we dont get it today than no chance for another week at least.

I live in Miami, Florida near the FIU and I'm still have not seen a drop of rain since the first days of May. I live around 118 AVE and 26 Terrace, the school St. Agatha is around 107 AVE and 8th St. and they yesterday reported 0.67" of rain and I just saw far away moving showers, this is incredible and he drough continues.

Notice that right along the coast from West Palm to the keys is all light blue, and in the case of my house at least that ment zero rainfall. Four or five million of us are right along that stretch of coast. Yeah, it refills the glades and the ground water, but it still feels like a drought.

Those tunderstorms are so random. Kind of like those pesky hurricanes, always buzzing around but always heading elsewhere. I had a week of daily rain, then I mentioned it here, jinxed myself i guess, and had nothing for two or three weeks. The past few days i have seen lots of storms, heard thunder, felt the cool down drafts from them even, but they didn't make it this far east, or went nort or south of me. So they didn't help my yard one bit. Until early this morning sometime, it rained, finaly. Not a whole lot, but enough I skipped turning on the sprinklers.

Looks like the Florida Panhandle near Pensacola will be getting some rain shortly.

You may not like this but we need a tropical storm or weak hurricane to bring some badly needed rain.

I know how you feel Hurakan. But, be careful what you wish for. Had to learn that the hard way.

That's true Lindaloo, but a weather system is one of the easiest way to get some rain. Here where I live, in the SW of Miami, the grass looks more dead than alive. Since the first days of May we have not receive the necessary rain to fulfill our necessities. We have a similar situation in 2001 and fortunately we had Tropical Storm Gabrielle, which fulfilled Lake Okeechobee and the water restrictions ended. At this moment we are at the edge to begin again with the water restrictions.

Finally I received rain. In just an hour I got over an inch of rain and some hail smaller than a dime. Also bad winds, the streets are flooded and some trees branches are in the ground. But at the end I'm happy to have seen some rain.
