Just because I am a moderator does not mean I can't voice my own opinion of the spins as an individual poster.

Now from a mod viewpoint, stay on topic and have some respect please. Thanks! :D

This is a thread on Regan, I made an observation complimentary to him and referenced how I thought he would have handled one of the more dominating current events. It was on topic, it was not spin, as a personal poster you have a right to express objections. As in the function of moderator you are out of line.

That last letter brought tears to my eyes; not something that happens very often. He knew how hard it was going to be on Nancy and the family..

What a great man.

Personally...Ronald Reagan was single handedly responsible for turning this "could care less about politics person", into one that takes great pride in our Country and takes an active interest in politics, and our policy makers.

I can remember the feeling of despair and hopelessness following the Vietnam war years and then the miserable years of Jimmy Carter. Reagan had a way of making the future look bright, and his optimism was infectious.

IMO ---- a greater President, this country has never seen.

Carter didn't possess great leadership skills, but he has had a huge impact outside the presidency as a humanitarian. Thus he has forged his legacy in a different, albeit important, fashion.

zwyts....It is generally considered off limits and classless for an Ex President to openly critisize a sitting President.

I disagree. It is not common, but I don't think it is classless.

Carter also hammered Clinton during the Monica scandal.

*sigh*

I'm watching the procession into the Reagan Library. I thought I'd lose it when they started playing "Hail To The Chief" as they unloaded his casket from the hearse. And seeing Nancy just breaks my heart...I want to just reach out and hug her. :(
