Tough to do since even if you purge it once, it has a habit of finding its way back. I use Macafee to help along with a little program called Spyhunter. It helps, but doesn't kill the queen bee.

Macafee is good virus protection....and with ither spybot and adaware, you will be able to remove most, if not all the spyware on your system. I use adaware personally, and I like it the best to remove spyware off of my PC.

"Viruses" and "spyware/tracking bugs" are NOT the same things; Ad-Aware should work well with (and separately from) your McAfee, and it is a free download.

Adware can only be caught by Spybot. Or at least it is the most accurate in catching it. Download it and do a sweep. You will be amazed at what is hidden on your computer.

To remove spyware I have spysweeper. Great program.

Adware is toolbar hijacking and some can even redirect you to other sites allowing popups with viruses or trojans to get on your computer. If you do not have a popup blocker you need to get one.

spyware is mostly tracking cookies. Most are a low threat but the fact that sites put them on your computer ticks me off. The Weather Channel is the worst and is full of spyware cookies. I do not go there anymore.

Do you have a disk? No. Why save it to disk. Open it from its current location.

Save to your computer or just open the file Helen. Either way you will get the same results.
