Goodness... our forecast had improved greatly, but I can see why we're under a flood watch today. It looks like, from the radar to my untrained eyes, that it's streaming a bit more NE than just north this morning... or is that an illusion? That is one huge blob of convection down south of Victoria!

All that is coming N and/or NNE and it covers most of the Western GOM. I's say our FFWatch is justified and probably will be extended.

Uh, quick edit. Radar shows a shower just babout to come through my area of W Houston.

It's murky looking outside...but there hasn't been any rain this morning and was only a light rain before I crashed into bed at 10 last night... but I don't think a hurricane would have woken me up after then. Looked a bit wet outside this morning, but not any worse than an evening shower.

Is this stuff actully going to GET here at some point?

They pretty much busted the forecast for us over here. We were forecast to have very high rain chances 70%-80% today through Thursday but now we're only looking at a 40% chance today and I'll be surprised if we even see anything today. This is an all Texas event so grab the oars all those in SE Texas.

Well just as I suspected, NWS just lowered our rain chances to 20% for today. Some flooding rains eh? :roll:

Same here SuziQ to your N on the West side. I don't like the radar either!!! I am located just at the bottom of the left of the H in Houston.

It's sprinkled a bit here, but that's it. Looks like it will hit right after I get back from lunch break (hopefully not before, because I don't want to get caught in it).

Gonna post the webcam shots. Not sure if they'll update or not, but I'll try.

Just heard about the Tornado Warning... It is pouring cats and dogs here! It is soooo dark outside, I had to turn on all my lights in the house!! It looks like its 7 pm!! Alot of damage in the Wharton area, esp the civic center... Looks like that 70% chance of rain was right.. lol...

Very dark here, especially to my southwest. Sugarland is right down the road from me on Highway 90, I'm one block off of 90. Had a few brief spurts of heavy rain, now just steady. DEAD WIND. None, zippo, nada. David, I'm at the far SW corner of the tollway.

Edit:Thunder all of the sudden. Blustery winds, DRENCHING DOWNPOUR. Something is happening.

I snuck out when it was issued. I looked to my North and I see a possible Wall Cloud. Further inspection determined it was not, but we had low hanging clouds and some blustery winds with thunder and lightning and downpours. Nothing severe yet. But I can tell it is going to be raining hard for a while!!!

Heights is rumbling!

I headed out immediatly after my last post to grab lunch before the downpour was supposed to start and it kicked up while we were driving out. By the time I made it back to the office to eat it was pouring.

No thunder or lightning so far though... and I suspect we havn't really seen the worst the storm has to offer.

Looks like a VERY nasty line of storms moving through Houston right now. Stay safe and keep an eye to the skies all those in Houston metro. Hopefully this line moves on because it's park right over the city right now :eek:

It is pouring here in downtown (I'm at work) and really dark. No thunder yet, but looking at the radar, I don't think it's far off. Should be a superhappyfun drive home today... :eek:

Just looks overcast here. I'm sure it will hit shortly. I just got back from lunch and only had to contend with a few spits of rain that didn't even require an umbrella.

I'm willing to bet I break 5000 during this storm.
