Friday -- TX state holiday?

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Tue Jun 08, 2004 9:29 am

Someone just asked me via email if I'd heard about Friday being declared a state holiday by Gov. Perry now, in addition to it being a federal holiday.

We would still work here at UTMB, but it affects some other people working here in the state and affects our pay.

They sent a memo recently -- UTMB will be closed but the hospital and clinics are still open. So I'll still be at work.

My husband works for the military. He said tonight that they are "thinking" of making Friday a holiday, as well as a day of mourning. The military will be off as well as the Keesler Federal Credit Unions, and no mail will be delivered.
