Blowing up again tonight, and seems to be moving Northward toward the GOM like the models said?

convection....

They love that area immediately east of upper lows. Nice divergence in upper levels east of upper trough extending from Florida to NW carrabean. If it persists into Thurs. maybe it will make the TPC Atlantic outlook 8-)

even with a lack of tropical development. the positioning of the bermuda high makes things more likely that the moisture in the Caribbean will come north. The Bermuda High has been established for the last month or so. I'll be courious to see if this is the trend of the summer. It may be a warm but wet summer for those in the south afterall... :D

Convection has persisted, will keep watching to see if shear lessens.

Maybe the shear will decrease... 1 local met this morning is already riding it off and making it seem like nothing lol..

For his sake.. Hopefully it won't develop too much. lol

I wouldn't expect anything out of this, even as impressive as it looks/has looked, anytime soon. I think your met that is writing it off is probably correct as the whole area to its' North is dominated by strong high pressure with the Bermuda High way farther West than normal and expected to stay that way for at least the next 4-6 days. In otherwords I don't and if the models are to be believed the models don't see much of anything happening for the next week tropically.

Models don't always....

#14 Postby Stormcenter » Thu Jun 10, 2004 9:18 am

My friend the models don't always see EVERYTHING when it
comes to weather especially tropical weather. But I too wouldn't
bet no more than a $1 or $2 that this will develop into anything.

Our local met pretty much wrote it off last night too but did mention it's rain making capabilities so we'll see. It is in a very hostile environment.

a taste of Mr. Bastardi:

"The pot may start to boil in the Gulf early next week. The upper low near the Yucatan is splitting and backing. The wave, should it survive, will be in area that will be well ventilated by Sunday. In addition, the next trof splits again coming southeastward. The point is that tomorrow is June 10th and the Gulf may have to be watched as we go into the weekend into early next week."

My friends on the visible loop, that thing is looking better and better. I'm no expert, but it's got a definite twist going on there. Our local met last night said it's to be watched early next week as it enters the gulf and that if the shear lessened, that all bet's were off on this thing. Very interesting anyway.
