The 18Z GFS shows a good little low develop from a tropical wave and move WNW across the deep tropics. It's not like it shows it 180 hours down the road or something- it picks up on it pretty quickly in the loop. Something to watch...

This upcoming week could be interesting, between the GOM possibilities and this African Low maybe we will see something. All we can do for now is wait and see but it is looking suspicious at this point for the GOM. The GFS has stayed on this developing low now for several runs.

My money is on............................
My money is on the GOM possibility. The Cape Verde system is way too early for this time of the season.

0Z GFS on it too
The 0Z GFS is on the GOM low as well. I am heading to FL (Naples) for a hurricane conference this weekend- perhaps there will be something in the Gulf once I am done come Monday. :-)
