Frightening to hear the stories years later. We may have disagreements about developing storms and their future paths but when it comes to being at ground zero life is put into perspective.
We all like a little excitement (some more than others....surfers) but nothing like Andrew. I hope no one is unlucky enough to experience a CAT 4 or 5 storm. The handful of us who have experinced past hurricanes know to respect the force of Mother Nature.
Its an experience that is dangerous, frightening, and humbling.

Ask ZipLock
I am sure Ziplock from the old Storm 97-99 years still lurks and posts. I remember some great posts from the Andrew experience.

I can take anything leading up to the strength of Hurricane Opal. Wins here were gusting past 144mph, almost totally destroying Destin and Downtown Fort Walton. I lost my home is Opal, over 9 feet of water had swept through the house. We pretty much lost everything. But just saying anything that has winds lower than 130mph..I can handle.
