No Alex......Just rain

#1 Postby Opal storm » Sun Jun 13, 2004 4:00 pm

Right now it doesn't look like this system has anymore of a chance. Its getting farther away from convection and getting ever so closer to land every hour.Expect RAIN,RAIN and more RAIN fromm LA to FLA( panhandle),I dont think we will see Alex form here, same for the area north of the yucatan.

I wouldn't give up on it quite yet.. It still has a couple days before it would reach the coast

I also will not give up yet, let see what happens tonight and overnight. Maybe during this time thunderstorms develop around the system and tomorrow the story will be different.

Actually, looking at the satellite its picking up speed.By tomorrow morning it will probably be within 50 miles off the coast.Even if it does become a td before landfall,td force winds would only be felt in isolated areas.

Don't know what you are looking about but it doesn't seem to be moving much at all to me. Sure you're not looking at the convection south of the panhandle?

Agree, not moving fast at all.

This slow movement can't possibility make the window for development that limited.

To me it looked like it was picking up speed, maybe not. But at the speed this thing is going at right now,it will be on land tomorrow afternoon. It had its chance to become something today but it didn't turn out the way people were expecting.Right now I would say the chance for any kind of development is at 40% and droping. This system is very dis-organized and doesn't look like its getting organized...so im convinced that this will not develop and it will just bring rain to the Gulf coast, nothing more than that.
