I saw the breaking news on CNN as Wolf Blizter was providing the information and it was an intruder that penetrated at camp New Jersey at the Iraq/Kuwait border where the 101 airborne is.

6 of the 10 soldiers are in critical condition but more details will come later.

This shows that the war is going to be more serious than expected and of more duration.

OMG - our nephew is with the 101st Airborne! He's at base camp all weekend. Please pray for him and everyone in the 101st Airborne. His name is Kris, by the way.

Thanks so much everyone. I have to think the best here. We all just received an update from his wife and here we were all thinking he was safe or as safe as can be, being on base all weekend. My heart goes out to the soldiers hurt and their families.

Seems to have been coordinated. IMO, Iraqi special forces, which are very good, or Iraqi intelligence operatives

Sounds more like the Vietnam sapper attacks. They usually came from people who had access to the camps. Delivery people etc. They went straight for the command tents so they either had help or had been in the camp before. :?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and prayers. I learned of this story here on the boards and of course ran to the TV. Then we had to attend my daughter's HS Musical (she played violin in the Orchestra). It was Les Mis (what timing, huh?)! All about the French Revolution. Let me tell, there were very few dry eyes in the house. All the while I'm thinking about our nephew Kris. What a night. Would have loved to attend the chat but we were out until almost 11. I was greatly comforted when I saw our answering machine had 0 messages. Such a relief. No news is good news, right? I'm thinking positive Sunny Shine!

Thanks again guys. You're the best! Do you know that?

Hugs

Mary,

I hope everything is ok concerning your Nephew,
we've been watching the war coverage non stop
at my house. You're in our thoughts.

Take care
