Anyone know of a good site that plots marine obs?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Anyone know of a good site that plots marine obs?

#1 Postby Air Force Met » Sun Jun 13, 2004 2:08 pm

I used to go to use PSU...but there site now redirects me to the buoy center.

DOes anyone have a link to a site where marine obs are plotted every hour? I know oceanweather plots them but it is only every 6 hours. PSU was hourly and plotted all ship and buoy obs for the GOM.

Also...where is the chat room now? Can't remember how I used to get in there and chat.

Thanks...got what I needed. I had the NDBC site but I needed a site that plotted them out...not just gave the observations. I used PSU but they are not up...the FSU site is exactly what I needed. It looks just like the PSU site I used to use.

Thank god the PSU site re-appeared (it turns out due to people begging them, it seems.)

When they took the old site down they claimed it was due to the fact that all the data was avaliable from NDBC, which was clearly NOT the case.

I had-emailed NDBC begging them to make a page with MAPS of worldwide buoy plots; that's what they don't have, at all, there. And Oceanweather is slow and just plain sucks.

I agree...and it's only every 6 hours. THe PSU site is by far the best out there with it's updates and it's text data pages. Now FSU has it....I'm no longer in a panic.
