Oh, I see...now that I'm the one getting drenched, the rest of you Hou/Galvers are kicked back with your dry feet up on the couch and ignoring the US Weather Watch forum. Well....pfffffffft! :P :)

Kelly (Beaumont) and Johnny (aren't you near Conroe?), you're probably getting some of this also, eh?

I certainly haven't had dry feet this morning!! It was storming bad when I left home, but things are much better here in downtown Houston -- just some light rain.

According to doppler radar estimates, looks like areas around Beaumont have picked up 4-5" of rain this morning. Galveston looks like it's gotten hammered as well. We've had some rain overnight and already a shower move through this morning and the line of storms is slowly moving east so we might just get our 60% chance worth today.

It was dry on the drive to the office this morning, but it had already rained and now it has been pouring here at Westheimer and Gessner for at least an hour. Doesn't look like it will end soon either. Duckie, I am surprised you didn't have to swim to work. Of course, you are well equipped for that anyway.

Havent gotten too much rain here today... Didnt get too much yesterday either! I think we got more rain by that "surprise" rain on Sunday, that stunned all the local mets! Well I do hope it rains here today... If not I would have to say I must have a dome over the top of my house with a big neon sign that says, No Rain Here!

Take care and keep dry for all you lucky ones who are seeing the rain!!

Yep, we got some of this. I woke up in the middle of the night to loud thunder and very heavy rain and then it has continued on and off since then. There have been some very high rain rates including Sour Lake (about 10 miles west of Beaumont) with a 4.92"/hr. rate. Wow!
Another in Beaumont recorded that same high rate.

We've had about quite a few quick downpours so far today that never last more than about 3 minutes and then the sun comes out and it becomes incredibly humid. A decent line of storms is just to my west and one has formed just to my east so it looks like eventually we'll get some heavy rains here today.

BTW, I've noticed it rains out of almost every large cloud that passes by, must mean there is a TON of moisture to work with today?

It was raining when I left for work this morning (7 am) but my wife called and said that it hasn't rained since around 9 this morning. We have been in the hole so to speak West of Conroe.

I'm looking at the radar loop and their is a line our West of the Houston Metro area that is just sitting and growing. Take a look at it at the link posted below. Why is this line just sitting and not moving? If it continues to just sit their and grow then people out West will have some serious rain totals.

Hey Duck, are you seeing in water spouts down that way?

Can't see them from where I am -- in the hospital. And I just read the marine advisory -- nothing about them there, but that doesn't mean they aren't possible or aren't happening down near Freeport, where it looks worse off the coast right now.

Keeping an eye out. :)

The rain is picking up in my area as the line that moved through Beaumont earlier slowly makes its way through Lafayette. Could see about an inch with this or maybe more if it decides to stick around for a while.
