Paolo, you have to understand that we saved your a$$ previously. I don't know how old you are but my father fought and my relatives died for your freedom of speech which you now use to put us down. Your words are not easy to swallow!!!!!

I will not argue with Paolo. It is long-standing doctrine of the United States and NATO, of which Italy is a member, that the free flow of oil is a matter of National Security. Paolo feels that we want to take the oil, which of course is false. We want to ensure it continues to flow freely and cheaply.

...Oh and Iraq hates us being there...

Adversarial like they did with Clinton? LOL!
And Bush has never had a free ride. The overwhelming majority of the media is liberal and naturally it shows.

Are you saying that we never heard a peep about the Clinton scandals in the mainstream media? LOL! From Whitewater to Monicagate, the media talked about nothing but ....
Bush did have a relatively free ride, up until about halfway through the war in Iraq. The aftershocks of 9/11 insulated this president from being questioned on big ticket items like the Patriot Act, his tax cuts and the treatment of POWs in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay. Reporters and editors and media outlet owners are American, too ~ and after 9/11 most of us were too overcome to be critical.
And the media is corporate, not liberal. Reporters are, generally speaking, socially liberal and fiscally conservative, as are most people of their education level and financial bracket. Reporters, however, are not the be-all-end-all of information dissemination ~ they have a chain of command to answer to, and that chain more often than not consists of officers in a coporate conglomerate who will make sure that the interests of themselves and their sister companies are looked after, regardless of politics.

No I never said that we never heard a peep about all of the Clinton scandals. It would have been impossible for them to ignore them all. But there is no denying...the media LOVED Clinton, although I cannot understand why. ;)

I disagree about Bush getting a free ride. I heard plenty about everything you mentioned, unless you're talking about the days immediately following 9/11. Everything was devoted to that then.

And the media is liberal. Everyone may not choose to acknowledge it but it is. Polls and research support this, as if it isn't obvious. ;)
