We are more then just a message board!

#1 Postby chadtm80 » Mon Jun 21, 2004 2:05 pm

Just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone to see if everyone is using The full storm2k site here.. We all know about the message board, but what about our weather central? There are a lot of very neat things. We are continually adding to the weather central so if you haven't been in a while, please check it out again. There is everything you need all in one site.. If there is something you would wish to be added just let me know. The site is all inter linked via the menu bar at the top of every page here at storm2k.. Including the Message boards. (providing you are using one of the following templates.. wsdark, fiplain, subsilver.. Dark blue being the defult template and the one the admin staff recommends to everyone)

The links on the menu bar are as follows.

Conus Models
1000mb, 850mb, 700mb, 500mb, 300mb, Rel hum/lift, surface, SL Pres/Prec..

Storm2k Products
This is where you will find forecasts from your very own storm2k forecast team.. Both National forecasts and Tropical Outlooks.

National Maps
Under this link you will find various Conus maps including - Satellite maps, Snowfall maps, Fronts Maps, and temperature maps as well as many other goodies.

Your Weather
This is my personal favorite feature here at storm2k.. The first option once you mouse over the your weather link is "your local forecast". On this page you just simply put in your zip code or city and storm2k will compile all your local weather info right there for you in one place.. Your local Radar, Your Nowcast, your 7 day forecast, your hour by hour forecast, and warnings and advisories for your area.. Plus much more. The next two links in the your weather section are state discussions and forecasts.. Just select one then select your state from the drop down box and click go. Finally under the your weather link is International and Canadian weather :-)

Tropical Weather
This section is very busy this time of year.. Mouse over the Tropical Weather link for all your tropical weather needs. First up you have Tropical Weather Outlooks for the Atlantic and Pacific Basins. Next you have the storm2k tropical models page. The next link you have available to you is the Sea Surface Data page. Next up is Buoy Data for both the GOM and The Atlantic. There is also a Direct link to storm2k's official affiliate model map site on wrel.com... The link after that one is the Recon link.. Next is a new section really just added to storm2k. Sheer/wind maps. There is also a link to our SAL info, and finally the Tropical Satellite page. (very extensive)

Emergency Info
This section has links to Red cross shelters. It also has pages for evac routes and flood zone maps for those on the coast. Also provided is a link for hurricane preparation.

There is MUCH MUCH MORE on the site then even described above.. Those are just the main links available on every page. Please browse through, save some as your favorites ;-)

Let me know what you think, and let me know what you would like added..

Thanks,
Chad

Chad, thanks for posting this... I always wondered why I never saw the links at the top that people would mention -- I had no idea the wrong template was set in my profile!!

Now I can see what I have been missing! Yay! :)
