Big deal. My parents have been married over twice as long. (Of course my parents aren't from Hollywood!)

Big Deal? For any Hollywood marriage to last even 5 years is something!

Abajan, didn't care for your "Big Deal" comeback to Shawn....

Thanks, Mary! :)

Twice as long? Well, when you consider Meryl Streep is 55, she couldn't really be married that long...yet. But it is her first and only marriage. And given her extremely productive career, I'd say there's definitively something strong and committed going on between the two...and they have four kids. :)

That comment was kind of uncalled for abajan

Now that I've had a cup of coffee and a chance to run through the rain, which got the blood flowing faster to my brain, I'm thinking Abajan's comment might have been in jest. It just didn't read that way though due to an unclear tone and lack of smileys.

Sadly, it seems these days, ANY marriage that lasts that long -- in Hollywood or otherwise -- is rare. Of course, the longevity of the commitment is relative to the age of the commitees. Obviously, someone who is 70 and has been married since age 30 will have been married longer than someone who is 50 and married since age 30.

I gotta throw kudos out to my fave -- Patty Duke. After 3 previous marriages (one that lasted only 13 days back in her majorly manic-depressive days), she's been happily married for 18 years to drill sergeant Michael Pearce (who she met on the set of "A Time To Triumph" in 1986). :)

Sorry...got off on a trivia tirade. I'll step down now. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. :)

HG -- again, many congrats! :) :) :) :)

Congrats on the 1st anny HG!!! If you have as much fun in your marraige as you do in the games forum you it will be a long one. We just had our 32nd anny in May. I'll never say it has been easy, but I will say it has been a blessing and it has been fun. I hope yours is the same.

Yep, my comment was said in jest but I can see how it could easily have been misunderstood. Sorry about that.

BTW, congrats HurricaneGirl and here's wishing for many more wonderful years ahead! :)
