I Have a Bad Feeling About This

I fear we are heading into a trap. The only way to avoid this would seem to be considerably more shock and noticeably less awe.

Here too Steve, something VERY, VERY fishy going on, I don't like the feeling I'm getting, something like a MAJOR bio-chem attack, unlike anything we've seen before, PRAY for them!

During the Gulf War... Saddam drew our troops in only to use chemical weapons on them. The same scenario seems to be the case here. In a last ditch attempt, because he knows he is losing control, will use these weapons on our troops. Only difference is HE SAYS he does not have them. Our troops know this.

I also have a bad feeling about all of this. I fear the chemical weapon attack is just waiting to happen.

I hope that the troops and our leaders realize this and are taking some sort of precautions.

I think prayers from everyone here is inline.

A chemical/biological attack is a very high possibility as the pressure mounts. The military leaders have been talking about it since the beginning so I'm sure that they are as prepared as they can be.

The chem suits they wear, sadly, will not give the troops the 100% protection they need in a major bio-chem attack. I remember back when I went to boot camp, 1976, the DI, Company Commander said, that even though these are the best masks money will buy, NOTHING is capable of keeping out 100% of the hazards.

I too have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that the closer our troops get to Baghdad the more the danger of a Bio/Chem attack increases. We know they have them and they have used them against us and others and their own people in the past. Nothing will stop them now unless we capture them without a fight, which is highly unlikely.

For those who think the discovered plant was just a regular chemical plant, why in the hell would they use sandcast to disquise the buildings from above. Why was this plant not on any list? Regular chemical plant my a**!!!!

Our troops, as well trained as they are, need to be even more aware of their surroundings and the "civilians" that may approach them.

We need to double up our intercessory prayers for the protection of all the coalition troops.

Bring in the MOAB's!!!

some of our AH-64's got rattled pretty badly by Triple A while trying to attack some Tank positions of the Republican Guard. I'm still surprised by the lack of some really BIG blasts from the air attacks- We also need to get forces into Northern Iraq toot sweet otherwise we are going to be in deep Kimchi-the strongest force doesn't always win-we proved that at Midway-victory goes to those who show flexibility and initiative.

Oh My!

I left home about 8am this morning for church and ended up going and doing a million things and not getting home until nearly 9pm tonight. I kept up with news through the radio and family members and what a very sad day today was. I know I missed a million details but I think I needed this break from so much depressing news. I heard enough but without the constant TV coverage.

I pray tomorrow will be a better day. I think we need all the prayers we can get. :(

Looks like we sent a light brigade to a Kurdish airfield to help secure it as a forward airfield. I look for the 101st and 82nd to be moved into the north as the second front we wanted to open from Turkey. It wouldn't have been safe to move these light airborne/airmobile troops to the north without close air support.

What I See

#11 Postby Aslkahuna » Mon Mar 24, 2003 12:28 am

if we do take Baghdad is that Saddam will go to ground and his Ba'ath Party supporters will wage a guerilla action against us-something we haven't been greatly successful at handling in the past. The discovery of a large weapons cache in the Port Areas in Ba'ath Party Headquarters there would support this idea.

I agree, I think this is going to be a long and complex war. I just pray God protects our troops.
