NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY
1237 PM EDT FRI JUN 25 2004

...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED AN URBAN AND
SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY EFFECTIVE UNTIL 230 PM EDT FRIDAY
AFTERNOON FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES

IN EAST CENTRAL KENTUCKY...
HARRISON...NICHOLAS...BOURBON AND CLARK.

INCLUDING...BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
CARLISLE...CYNTHIANA...PARIS AND WINCHESTER.

* AT 1232 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
RAIN OVER PARIS...OR ABOUT 18 MILES NORTHEAST OF LEXINGTON...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 5 MPH.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.
VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.

REPORT FLOODING TO YOUR NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. THEY WILL
RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN
LOUISVILLE.

I'll have more warnings as they come in...

I remember when the real serious floods back in '96. I can only imagine how bad it must be with all the rains lately.

Surprisingly, it's not too bad...I will say we have had a lot of rain the last couple months...May we were over 2 and a quarter inches above average...the ground is so wet to the south it can't take any more rain...however we're below average this month by 2/3 of an inch.
