For retaliation, we should step up the bombing campaign and take out all Iraqi military positions. IMO, the idea of sparing Iraqi civilian life at the expense of ours should end and we should take out the iraqi forces no matter where they are so that incidents like those that happened today don't happen again

the reason the american POWs were taken, apparently, is that they made a wrong turn and ended up behind enemy lines.

we should continue to respect the rights of POWs we take and avoid killing civilians as much as possible.
if we just say screw it and carpet bomb, it will turn more against us. some that may have otherwise helped even.

Are you suggesting this, even if this tactic places Americans unnecessarily in danger? Which of our allies would oppose this. We have a whole 2 helping us with the combat, Britain and Australia. The rest of the world does not support this war

Your scorecard is dated...in addition to the US, UK and Australia, we have the Royal Danish Navy, Polish para-commandos, Dutch and Norwegian petro-chemical expert teams presently engaged in the Coalition against Iraq; add the Kurdish 15,000 partisans in the north keeping the "fedayeen" busy, Jordan (though not "open" about it) allowing us to use forward bases from which to insert the "meanest mothers in the valley", Japan offshore with med-evac hospital ships...and more coming in by the week.

not suprising in my opinion. we still must show that we are better than them. doing anything irrational like excecuting prisoners will make us look much worse b/c it will get more foreign press...sadly :(
