Wow! I am almost getting to the point that if I hear there is breaking news about the war in Iraq, I don't want to look or listen for fear it is more bad news about U.S. troop casualties.

That's true, bfez - my young neice was all excited and
elated when the bombs were blasting away over Baghdad,
on Friday, and now, she is so confused about the casualties.
I had to remind her that "War is Hell", and, there are
people who are intent on killing YOU, if they can! She
was just in awe that WE could have casualties, bless her...

We have to keep praying for the safety of
our troops and the allied forces!

All we can do now is pray that loss of life is minimal----but even one loss is one to many, especially to family amd friends left behind to bear the pain. As I said, previously, this is war and war means loss of life.

So True......War is HELL. Those on the front lines need prayer, and to know the people back at home support them 100%.

I agree bfez... our town's 203rd division will be deploying to Iraq on Wednesday. I know so many in the group... sometimes it seems like a bad dream.

My heart goes out to the friends of family of those who lost a loved one today in Afghanistan.

DON"T LOOSE OUR RESOLVE!!!

#10 Postby Steve H. » Sun Mar 23, 2003 10:06 pm

General Franks & Prez Bush warned us that things will get worse before they get better. We need to stay the course and understand that soldiers will die and accidents will happen. I remember listening to Frank Reynolds giving the casualty counts every day during the Vietnam Conflict. It got me angry, and was propaganda as well. "Uncle Walt" Cronkite was a damn liar, and I've heard this from several Colonels who were at the same locations he was reporting from near Da Nang. His stories were often 180 degress off from the truth. So be careful not to draw draw quick opinions from what you here. The truth is often hard to discern. The days ahead will be rough. I can't believe today I almost let this thing with the ambush get to me. I was in the Tampa mall when I heard it and two arab men walked by. I imagined myself throwing them down the escalator (head first). That's the power of emotions. We have to be above that. Getting even is not the answer. Completing the mission is.
