Tropical Depression One-C Advisory Number 5

Statement as of 5:00 PM HST on July 05, 2004

at 1 PM HST...2300z...Tropical Depression One-c was dissipated near latitude 8.2 north...longitude 168.2 west or about 610 miles south of Johnston Island.

The remnants are moving toward the northwest near 9 mph and this motion is expected to continue for the next 12 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 20 mph with higher gusts.
Tropical Depression One-c is dissipated as a tropical depression.

Estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb...29.83 inches.

Repeating the 1 PM HST position... 8.2 N...168.2 W. Movement
toward...northwest near 9 mph. Maximum sustained winds... 20 mph. Minimum central pressure...1010 mb.

This is the last public advisory issued by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center on this system.

<sniff, sniff> I'll miss that lil' depression. It was almost like a brother to me. :D

Actually, we'll have to monitor the progress of this system when it crosses the int'l dateline.

It died cuz we weren't giving it enough attention. We are all guilty of tropical cylcone negligence :lol:

FOR THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC...BETWEEN 140W AND 180

THE CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER IS NO LONGER ISSUING
ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL DEPRESSION ONE-C AS IT HAS DISSIPATED.
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL
DEPRESSION ONE-C ARE ABOUT 1150 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE ISLAND OF
KAUAI. ALTHOUGH THIS SYSTEM LACKS A CLOSED SURFACE CIRCULATION AT
THIS TIME...IT WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED FOR SIGNS OF
REGENERATION AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWEST TOWARDS THE INTERNATIONAL
DATELINE.

ELSEWHERE...NO TROPICAL CYCLONES ARE EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48
HOURS.
