Tropical Weather Outlook
Statement as of 10:30 PM EDT on July 6, 2004
for the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico... Showers and thunderstorms associated with the tropical wave located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands remain poorly organized. Development...if any...should be slow to occur as the system moves westward near 20 mph.
An area of disturbed weather is located about 575 miles east-southeast of the southern Windward Islands. This area is
moving westward about 20 to 25 mph and further development...if any...will likely be slow to occur. Another area of disturbed about 200 miles south of Bermuda is associated with a trough of low pressure. This system is expected to move northeastward over the next day or so...and some slow development is possible.
Elsewhere...tropical storm formation is not expected through
Thursday.
