Is the Kidnapped/Missing US Marine a Hoax???
Saw that this morning on the local news. I found this article from MSNBC on the same thing. Interesting...

It's starting to sound like a hoax. The thing that really annoys me is all these claims by the family that he is safe but yet the military can't confirm it. All the other prisoners taken hostage we knew almost immediately if they had been released/escaped or were killed. There wasn't much uncertainty.

Spy vs. Spy scenario? 'Embed' was a term that occured to me a while back.
It still looks like a case of desertion to me with the media doing what it can to muddy the waters.

Unless I haven't seen all the images (which I'm sure I haven't), here's what I'm confused about:
1) On the image of him while in "captivity," he was still in his BDU's. Haven't all the others that we've seen been in a prisoner's orange jumpsuit.
2) One of his captors had his hand on his shoulder in almost a reassuring manner. Never seen that before, have we?
3) The captors in the background were never shown. All the others showed the men in hoods with rifles and/or knives.
4) He was blindfolded. I don't recall any of the others being blindfolded during the initial videotaped messages where they gave their names and where they were from and so forth. Only in a few of the actual execution scenes were they blindfolded.
Oops...I was gonna say:
5) There was no flag or banner in the background. But now I see there is.
According to what I've read, a still image was shown on Al-Jazeera and nothing else. No video, no speech, no rants from the captors.
Total hoax, IMO.

Well, this Marine is now sitting in the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon; Mansoor Ijaz (FoxNews Middle East contributor) says that he couldn't have made the trip w/o the asistance of Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed terror group.
More, Hassoun's family in Lebanon was in a shoot-out with another family who called them "U.S. agents" earlier today.
He is being interrogated as we speak...it will be VERY interesting to find out what he has to say about all this.

Sorry about the thread drifting I'm about to do here but did anyone catch the video of the Filipino gent that was recently kidnapped? If I didn't know better, I would think he had a SMILE on his face, or a smirk at the least. And here I am thinking if I was in his position I would be completely terrified.

I have to agree with you on that Johnathan. No "swagger" look or anything like that, just a posed picture. HHHHHMMMMM????????
And I do think it will be very interesting to see what comes out of this interrogation!!! I think it has been a hoax since day one. Great points to ponder Duckie!!
