His shows are awesome! The Parrotheads entertain Buffett! He's just there for background music.

LOL Shannon #2.

I saw him about 25 years ago (yikes!). He opened for the Eagles in the pouring rain at Tampa Stadium and just swept them under the rug! Great show!

Enjoy! Hope you can get in somehow. Post some pics of you all decked out if you can. :)

Doing the pop in again....busy/busy, packing for vacation. My goal each year is to come home to a clean house. So naturally I make a sincere effort in this department but only pulled it off once or twice. I just hate coming home to a messy house! Anywho, been running around like crazy. You always forget something - batteries, someone needs more sox....list goes on and on. Geez, they do have stores in NC!!! LOL

To get serious, does the Atlantic look calm off Emerald Isle, NC? I haven't been checking lately and that would just about ruin the trip if anything were to develop. But one good thing - we wouldn't be in the Outer Banks area. I've heard it's beautiful up there but I'd be so nervous in an evacuation. It would take hours to get out of there! We're just off shore from the main land, whew. Well, if anyone knows for certain it's all clear over there, no canes brewing, that would make me feel more comfortable!

I'll likely find time to check in tomorrow but we're pulling out early Sunday morning (our condo rental is Sunday to Sunday, first time ever we've had that arrangement!).

Night all....

There, of course, are no guarantees Miss Mary, but I wouldn't worry about having to deal with any tropical systems where you are going. I will never say never, but nothing indicates there is the threat of anything happening in the next week in that area.

HAVE FUN!!!! BE SAFE!!!!

Thanks David - that does make me feel better! I'm sure I'll be checking on the weather more when we get there. Here at home we have Dish TV, so TWC local forecasts are a joke. I don't bother with them anymore! Hoping we have cable in our condo, and not Satellite.

Thanks Eric for that detailed forecast! Looks to be hot-hot, yikes I wilt when it's that hot! Years ago a Pharmacist told me to take salt water tablets while on a trip to Florida, so I wouldn't get dehydrated. I did and they helped. But I've since pitched them since they expired.....I think they were over the counter.....wonder if I even need them? I get pretty tired and headachy when it's over 95. Ah, heck with all that, I'll wing it! There are Pharmacies in NC I'm sure....I just may be asking for them again!

Despite all of that, I am really looking forward to seeing this region. I have heard nothing but positive things about the Crystal Coast, absolutely nothing negative. I think we picked a good place to vacation.

Good MORNING!

*hangs his head in SHAME* It's been SO long since I've been on the porch, I'm TOTALLY ASHAMED of myself

First off, ENJOY your vacation Mary 8-) Sounds like a BLAST!

Not much else going on OTHER than the MONSOONS 8-) FINALLY, some RAIN, not much mind you, however, EVERY SINGLE DROP is GREATLY APPRECIATED  and the forecast is hanging in there for even MORE INTENSE storms "WOooooHooooo!"

Gotta run, heading to Flagstaff here in a few minutes to pick up my daughter for a coupla weeks, I was hoping for a longer stay but she's at the age to where SHE can decide on how long she wants to stay, she has a LOT going on at home now, friends, summer school sports etc.

Have a BLESSED Sunday one and ALL and if you get a chance, whisper a little prayer for us would ya for a safe trip?

unfortunately, I forgot the camera back at my hotel room :( That was a bummer. I had a literal parrot on my head with a lei around my neck and in my tropical tankini swimming suit top. Quite festive to say the least. Not bad for just sitting in the parking lot. It would have been a much better show if I had tickets (Alpine Valley sells out within 10 minutes!)... One would have to get in line at a local ticketmaster before 6am to get tickets!!

Darn Shannon, that would have made a great shot for the Member's Gallery! :D

Yay Monsoons for Dennis and the AZ gang!!! :rain:
Enjoy your visit with your daughter.

Have a great trip Mary!! It's hard trying to think of everything to pack. I'm pretty anal about packing. My husband usually ends up pulling the suitcases away from me saying, "whatever is not packed by now, buy it there!" We'll have another go around this weekend as we travel back home to NH to visit friends and celebrate his 50th birthday. Got some fun stuff planned.

Have a good one!! :sun:

Monsoon dust tonight! No rain here in my neck of the woods. 115 for a high this afternoon...highest for the year thus far. Cooled down to 95 after the storm neared! Whooppeee! Got out my coat!

Hope everyone enjoys their trips this summer. We're putting our quarters in the remodeling cup this year...our Florida trip has been cancelled this fall because of the likely arrival of a new grandbaby!

Glad to see that you got some rain Dennis. Kathy commented yesterday that she has never ever seen so many anvils on thunderstorms as since arriving here in Phoenix. I agree. They are so gorgeous at sunset each day...even without a drop of rain.

Nice to hear from you Donna. Hope the family is holding its own during the summer time off!

Good to see you again Shannon...this time of year reminds me of the many summer trips to near Manistique, Michigan on Lake Gulliver. Always passed through Green Bay. What is that town in Michigan where the bridge is actually LOWER than the water level on each side?

Enjoy everyone. Thanks for understanding my very occasional visits. Not for lack of thoughts about you.

Just wondering...would that be up around Mackinac Island?

Thanks Garrett, that lemonade is going down well today. Our dp now is 76º with a high later today of 94º. Sounds like coat weather to Steve! :D

Did I read that right, Steve ... A new grandbaby? Let's hear some more details about this new arrival, Poppysky. :lilangel:

like I said before, unfortunately, I did not have the camera with me. Yes, that would have been an interesting pic to say the least.

Biology and Calc II is almost over... just about 2 weeks left.  Believe me, I can't wait. Its been long enough. I'll be happy with a C in both classes. Its been long enough (yes, this was on purpose!). Today we had a midterm and a lab practical in class! My brain is extremely fried... and then afterwards we had a small lecture. Concentration, yea right. I'm surprised I was able to read what I was writing. I just need a passing grade... that's all. I'm not a biologist, so the terms are all over my head. I'll stay with my meteorologist mindset.

Poppysky... a new grandbaby.... awe :)

Shannon, you still make me tired with how much ground you cover between classes and tests and just plain living!!! I wish I had 1/10 that energy!!!!

Garrett, that lemonade is indeed going down well with the temp sitting at 100º right now!! Fortunately the humidity is only 23% which is way below our normals that would usually make this feel like 110º.

Has anyone made sure Crouton has water during this heat? I haven't even seen him lately, but maybe that is because I haven't been around much.  I'll try and pop in more often even though it is hurricane season. Interesting how I always seem to show up when there are some KK's around!?!?

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!!!

Well, we almost hit triple digits yesterday, and for the first time...the AIR came on! We've done well to wait until this late in the summer to run the a/c, huh? :) Its so hot, that the boys have traded in riding their bikes on the jumps, for the cool interior of my house....we went to Disney yesterday, but waited until 7pm, so as to beat the heat! SUMMER is here! Unfortunatly with these high temps, the smog is rearing its ugly head even denser...yuck!
