Hey...I did my best to hype it up.
Then again...it's like trying to hype up the theatrical release of Star Trek the Motion Picture.
In fact...things are so quiet I think I'm falling asleep right here at my comp........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Close, but no cigar...
Disturbance in BOC looks to be developing a circulation very close to the Mexican coast. Had the disturbance not tracked as quickly (why I called for no development yesterday) WNW it might have spun up as the ULL moved away. Only other feature to watch is the TW moving through the islands. Currently way too much shear but conditions might improve aloft in a couple of days as the TW approches the GOM......MGC

Well what do ya know......rainstorm....you just said possible
So much for the naysaying
Well, MGC you have a valid point. Looked like if the BOC flareup had some more real estate, it could have developed. Not so for the rest of the basin right now. The remants of 95L are the only game in town, and the 12Z GFS is not encouraging for the next week. WIth the big Atlantic high in place, the ITCZ is suppressed and dry. Things will change though

Yep.. And the big dogs agree. From the 5:30 TWO
CLOUDINESS...SHOWERS...AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE EXTREME WESTERN
GULF OF MEXICO AND THE ADJACENT LAND AREAS ARE PRIMARILY ASSOCIATED
WITH A WEST-NORTHWESTWARD-MOVING LOW PRESSURE TROUGH. SATELLITE
IMAGES INDICATE THAT THIS SYSTEM HAS BECOME A LITTLE BETTER
ORGANIZED THIS AFTERNOON. HOWEVER SINCE THE TROUGH IS MOVING
INLAND OVER NORTHEASTERN MEXICO...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT
ANTICIPATED IN THIS AREA.
