* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH IN SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA
* UNTIL 215 PM EDT
* AT 138 PM EDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO NEAR
SANDBRIDGE BEACH...AND CREEDS OR ABOUT 9 MILES SOUTH OF VIRGINIA BEACH
OCEANFRONT...MOVING EAST AT 5 MPH.
* THE TORNADO IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR...
DAM NECK BY 155 PM EDT...
7 MILES SOUTHEAST OF RUDEE HEIGHTS BY 210 PM EDT...
THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A
SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE
NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

In addition flooding rains occuring....4 inches an hour...now thats a TROPICAL DOWNPOUR!!!
The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued an urban and
small stream flood advisory effective until 330 PM EDT Monday
afternoon for people in the following County
In southeast Virginia
City of Virginia Beach
At 128 PM EDT weather service Doppler radar indicated very heavy
rain over Virginia Beach particularly near sandbridge and Pongo.
Radar indicates rainfall rates of almost 4 inches in and hour with
over 3 inches of rain having fallen in some locations.
