CNN/USA Today/Gallup just released their latest poll:

Kerry/Edwards: 50%
Bush/Cheney: 46%

Edwards numbers:
Women jumped to Kerry by 4 ponts
Under 50 voters gave Kerry 10+ point bounce
Older voters turned off by Edwards
No southern bounce
Rural voters like Edwards on ticket
Moderates jump to Kerry by 5 points

Margin of error is 4% so it's a stastical tie. The problem for Kerry/Edwards is there is no southern bounce. Southern Democrats see that Kerry and Edwards are too liberal for them.

its a ridiculous poll. in other words, 96% voting for the 2 main parties? and of course some will vote for 3rd parties. no one is undecided? a ridiculous poll

no, i would be out there telling people who edwards and kerry are. and i would be quoting whoppi to people who are buying the lie that kerry wants family values. this campaign is pathetic. every day edwards/kerry is blasting bush a new one with no reply. if bush is too nice to fight back then get out of the race now.

Don't take polls at face value, but i guess its a good thing that almost every poll has K/E inthe lead?! Looks liek their positive campaign is working!

well, once again today, instead of attacking kerry, bush was out defending himself on iraq. when is he going to realize the press hates him? as long as he remains on the defensive he will continue sinking in the race. memo to bush: the press isnt going to attack kerry or call him a liberal. YOU HAVE TO DO IT!!

You two have nailed it right there, JQ and rainstorm--being positive vs. being on the defensive.

The problem is rainstorm, that once Bush starts attacking, his campaign is viewed as a negative one again.

Too bad he can't get anyone to fall for the "Uniter, not Divider" line again. Not anyone with a shred of intelligence, at any rate. What a wonderful campaign slogan that was....

I don't think he wants to try 'fiscal conservative' either.

the problem is bush has let kerry define the campaign, with no response whatsoever. time for bush to give refunds to people who donated. this is pathetic. bush should win easily, but he is afraid to attack. and kiko, the press is going to hate bush's guts no matter what he does

When Nader was added to this poll:

Kerry/Edwards-50%
Bush/Cheney-45%
Nader-Camjero-2%

Ralphie is collapsing. THANK GOD!

The poll would have been a little more useful if CNN wasn't included. The Bush admin will let things fly in October.

that will be way way too late. kerry will be seen as a war hawk moderate and bush as nothing by then. if that is bush's strategy, he is leading the party to total disaster.
also, what no one seems to understand. the law is now that 60 before an election only the media can criticise a candidate, and the media hates bush's guts. starting 02sept there will be non-stop savage attacks on bush. the media is already working for kerry, and starting 02 sept it will get 10 times worse.

People will get sick and tired of Kerry news coverage 24/7 over the next couple months. Kerry probably picked his VP too soon, actually. Everyone expected a slight bump in the polls, and what we've seen so far isn't worth getting excited about.

bush will get nothing from his convention either. the speakers are all liberal republicans which will do nothing to excite the party's base. newt gingrich said bush wont start campaigning till nov as well.
is al gore running the bush campaign? if bush is ashamed of being a conservative then he deserves to lose in a landslide

All Kerry is, is lies. All i hear from him is Bush bashing..atleast Bush is mature enough to talk about helping America and jobs and all of that. Kerry may talk about that sometimes but most of it is Bush bashing and how he can make it better...he better prove it soon or he will lose alot of his supporters.
