Oppressive heat!

#1 Postby LAwxrgal » Tue Jul 13, 2004 2:42 pm

94 degrees right now here.

Yesterday in my neck of the woods, depending on which thermometer you read (either the one at the vo-tech school across the highway or the one at the local private school) it was either 99 or 100 degrees.

And that was the actual air temp, not a heat-index reading. Heat index was probably in the 110+ range.

It was before we got smacked by nasty thunderstorms late in the afternoon that cooled it down some.

Local met says we're getting a north wind instead of a wind off the GOM because of high pressure sitting over Houston.

It's hotter than hell outside right now, we are just baking! Mid 90's through the entire week with very slight chances of rain. I'm starting to miss the afternoon storms already, at least they kept the temp down.

By the way, what part of Louisiana are you from? Welcome to the board!

Excessive heat advisory  in effect for my area till Fri morn.
