From Floydbuster::::

Dr. Lyons, even with this late start to the 2004 season, is it possible in your mind that it can still be very active?

Dr. Lyons, I see that you sometimes track a storm non-stop. Do you ever get any sleep if you have to be broadcasting well into the night?

I will be on teamspeak.

From Stephanie;

1) What do you think of the chances of a hurricane hitting the MidAtlantic/Northeast this year?

Hello Dr Lyons.This is an Honor 1)Does the negative phase of the MJO supercede conditions that aren't all that favorable for development compared to when the Negative phase of the MJO isn't present?? 2) How do you think the SAL will influence the Atlantic basin this year if at all??

2004 SEASON

#5 Postby HURRICANELONNY » Thu Jul 15, 2004 7:18 pm

Hello Dr. Lyons,
I'll keep my question to a more general picture of the 2004 season. What do you think is the greatest negative factor for this Tropical Atlantic season. If there is one, will it have a small or big influence on this season.
Thanks for reading my question.
Sincerely,
Lonny

From SacrydDreamz:

Dr. Lyons, how have the methods of estimating hurricane intensity changed after the reanalysis of Andrew? It was observed in later hurricanes that 90% of the flight level winds could be transferred to the surface, but not all hurricanes are that efficient. Again, how has this new knowledge affected intensity estimate and forecasts?

By the time it was on I didn't have the time to set everything up and listen. Did he state how he felt about this season with regards to activity being normal? Thanks
