Cold front in July. When will this pattern break?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Cold front in July. When will this pattern break?

#1 Postby MGC » Sat Jul 17, 2004 6:20 pm

The Gulf Coast is due a cold front passage Sunday. Some slightly cooler and much dryer air will settle over the Mississippi coast for the next couple of days. The upper high located over the west is still locked in place with a strong trough located over the east. Have any of you noticed the storm off the Pacific NW? Looks like a winter type storm. The tropics are deader than dead. Except for the warmth, it looks like a winter type pattern. I am becoming depressed. I'm sure something will spin up in the next couple of weeks, family vacation to Orlando....MGC

Here in NW Fla some lows will drop to the upper 60s,that's pretty uncommon for mid July.I wonder if something will form in the Gulf?
