For those of you who thought I may have Bipolar Disorder...

#1 Postby yoda » Mon Jul 19, 2004 8:27 am

You guys may be right, unfortuantely. I have spent the weekend looking up the definition of it, along with the symptoms, among other things. I used this website alot...

http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/bipolar.cfm

Well, I must say that this may show why I have the huge mood swings... I don't remember who said it first, but whoever did may be right that I MIGHT have Bipolar Disorder. I will have to make another appointment with my pysch and probably question her about this. To further along the probabilty that I have this, I was very hyper this whole weekend, and got about 5 hours of sleep. Right now, I am in the midst of a depressed state, but only slightly...

Thanks to all of your guys for your help over the past weeks, hell, months!! When I felt like it was all over, I came here and posted, and you guys rose to the challenge and helped me along, giving your input, your ideas of what to do and what not to do  ... among other things. I must say that this is one of the reasons that I like this weather board the most, because of its friendliness and its family that rallies behind someone if they are in trouble or in great need, like I was and have been. I have also told my friends from school, and they agree to help me out. All I have to do is watch out for my friend Mel, who apparently is suicidal as well and also has Bipolar Disorder... interesting that the two of us, best friends almost... and we both are going through the same things. She sees a pysch as well every week.

Again, I must give a HUGE thanks to everyone on the board, especially...

ALL the administrators and moderators.. especially Johnathan who gave me a site I can go to when I feel down or depressed, as well as the ability for me to post my feelings and thoughts here when they could just delete the posts...

Miss Mary.. who didn't send me to my room... :P

KC... who is almost always online on IM and constantly IMs me every min to see how I am...

Mary, Garrett...just being there and helping me out..

CalUWxBill (sp?) for helping out some

If I am forgetting anyone in particular.. just pipe in and say so.. I know I didn't get everyone who helped out.. but you ALL did! :D

Thanks to all! :D

Matt, the Jedi Master  :D

I'm glad that you've looking up information on the website. I think that a trip to the psychiatrist and not a psychologist is in order. If it is bi-polar, then you need medication, which only a psychiatrist can prescribe.

I'm glad that your friend Mel is already seeing a doctor. Make sure that she understands that if she is at any point distressed or feeling like she wants to kill herself, she should beep her doctor RIGHT AWAY. That also goes for you!

Matt - we're here for you, anytime you need us. That's what friends are for! I'll also keep you in my prayers and try not to send you to your room too often. Seriously though, it sounds as if you're on the right track. Glad Johnathan could help you out too - he's such a good guy!
