BIG TIME prayer request!
I very seldom ask for prayers but in this case, we're DESPERATE....we need "RAIN" BIG TIME, not just up here but whole STATE for that matter. It's getting down right depressing to see EVERY living thing DIE because of this drought
In my 39 years on the mountain, I've NEVER, EVER seen it this dry, we have BEARS coming in peoples YARDS looking for water, food, ALL the natural springs have dried up, all the stock tanks are dry, there's an emergency city council meeting Thurs night, it's rumored, STRICT water restrictions are going to be put in place. So please, if y'all would, say a prayer or 2 for us would ya's.....

Dennis...indeed the state in general is very very dry. There are pockets of too much rain...but generally we need some rainfall on a regular basis off and on this summer and then some snowfall by the foot this winter!
I had almost 11" of rain last year, and halfway through this year I am at 5.43" with monsoons yet to come. So at least my personal totals have been respectable for the desert.
Need all that moisture FAR upstream...in the mountains of Utah and Colorado too. Plenty of it over the next couple of years.
Nature has a way of leveling things out. Won't be long and you'll be asking for prayers for it to STOP! That's the fickle nature of our planet!

The monsoon, for what it's worth is here. Thanks to generous Spring rains, we have over 6'' for the year but the monsoon (singular since AZ only gets one monsoon a year) has been unbelievably pathetic to date except for a few locations and I seriously doubt that I'll come anywhere near close to the normal 10.88in for the 'soon. What with the Fall and Winter not likely to be very productive rainfall wise either we could be in really deep Kimchi here.

Thanks for the prayers folks, they're greatly appreciated!
Azskyman, I serioulsy doubt that I'll be asking for prayers for it to stop "LOL!" I've gone back through my stats and I haven't seen it not rain since my I started keeping records (16) years ago. We've now gone 5 days in a row without a drop of rain, at the rains that we have received are punney compared to normal. AH WELL......I'll just sit back and enjoy what the Good Lord sends my way, be it sunshine, be it rain, just NO wind "LOL!"
